Carol Spicher, RD
Carol Spicher, a Lancaster native, serves as Nutritional Counselor and Diabetes Educator for General Internal Medicine of Lancaster. She earned her college degree in Dietetics from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Virginia and completed a dietetic internship the following year at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, where she took the exam to become a Registered Dietitian (RD). Working at the Hershey Medical Center as a Clinical Dietitian gave her valuable experience with both hospitalized and clinic patients.
While her husband, Jim, completed his medical residency, Carol worked in Nutrition Research and earned a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh. Since moving back to Lancaster in 1990, she has become a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and an Insulin Pump Trainer. Her hobbies include cooking, sewing, camping, gardening, and trying new recipes with her husband and two sons.
