Mary Ellen Francescani, CRNP
Mary Ellen was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She completed her first Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies at The University of Vermont. She later attended Johns Hopkins University where she completed her Bachelors in nursing. She originally came to Lancaster in 1995 to participate in genetic research among the Amish and to work in the old St. Joe’s hospital ICU. In 1999 she departed for 5 years of living and working in Nepal. During her time there, she worked as a medical officer for the US Embassy taking care of embassy families and Peace Corps volunteers. On her return to Lancaster, she resumed work in the ICU at Lancaster Regional Medical Center and started her Nurse Practitioner training at Millersville University. She also acted as an adjunct faculty member for HACCs nursing school. Mary Ellen is ANCC board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Mary Ellen enjoys the challenge and complexity of internal medicine patients and is excited to work with such quality providers. When she is not working she is spending time with her husband Jerry and their three children Anabelle, Henry and Maisy. If there is any time left over, she is doing yoga, hiking or traveling overseas.
