Philip Jantzi, MD
Dr. Jantzi is originally from Central Ohio, but came to General Internal Medicine via Phoenix, Arizona. While attending Eastern Mennonite College for his undergraduate education he met Dr. Spicher, and that friendship helped pull him back east to Lancaster. After medical school at Wright State University and internal medicine residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, he and his family headed west to sunny Arizona. For seven years he worked with the Indian Health Service at the Phoenix Medical Center. This experience caring for Native Americans has given him an appreciation of cultural diversity and how it impacts a person’s health and medical care.
The study of herbs and their usefulness in maintaining health is a special interest of Dr. Jantzi’s. Biking and reading are favorite relaxations, but especially enjoyable is just spending time with his wife, Julie, a registered nurse, and children Hannah, Zachary, and Joshua. Dr. Jantzi is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
